General Hospital had already given Sasha a full-to-overflowing plate, what with the shock that Cody wasn’t her true love but her cousin, she was carrying Michael’s child after the exes’ one-night stand, and she had to keep the paternity a secret, lest the actual babydaddy lose his other children in a custody battle with estranged wife Willow. But then the powers that be went and served Sasha a second helping of messy drama courtesy of the ruse that Jason, of all people, is, um, the baker of her bun in the oven.

Fans expect that the unlikely alliance is going to lead to romance between the twosome. But it ain’t necessarily so. “Jason will have Sasha’s back as she tries to keep all interested parties at bay,” headwriters Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten tell Soap Opera Digest. “But coming together with Sasha in this way may result in unanticipated complications for them both.”

In other words, though the smart money is on Jason falling for Sasha, Sasha falling for Jason or both of them falling for each other, the long shot is that the career hitman will wind up torn by unacknowledged feelings for Anna. They agreed that the kiss that they shared in Africa was going to stay in Africa. But that sounds an awful lot to us like “We thinketh they doth protest too much.”

Overlooking for a moment the ick factor of Anna hooking up with her daughter Robin’s former significant other, the police commissioner has come to Stone Cold in a new light. In fact, when he was recently targeted by our new favorite character, Anna rather smugly defended him. What’s up with that, huh

Before we find out with any certainty, Jason and Sasha’s ill-conceived secret is bound to come to light. (Daytime secrets always do!) And when the cat is out of the bag, it’ll be Tracy, bar the door! “The truth about the baby’s paternity,” the scribes tease, “could have big ramifications for Drew and Willow’s struggle against the Quartermaines — and Carly — for the futures of Wiley and Amelia.”
