Days of Our Lives Shocker: The New Kiriakis Arrival Holds a Dark Twist You Won’t See Coming!

It’s been a few weeks since we last saw Joy on Days of Our Lives and a lot’s changed in that time — like her likely being pregnant with Alex’s child! Last we saw, Joy was still in the hospital, recovering from the Body and Soul poisoning and being dumped by Alex. We figured that was it, but now it’s clear that their story is far from over.

From the second Alex ran into Joy at the pub and pointed out that she hadn’t touched her lunch, we saw exactly where this was heading. And so, too, did Joy, because after getting sick, she ran straight to the hospital and a pregnancy test with Sarah. We’re still waiting on the results, but the damage may already be done as Stephanie overheard that Joy could be pregnant and knows there’s only one person who could be the father: Alex.

And with both Alex and Joy looking for jobs at Titan, it’s pretty darn clear that they’re back on a major collision course together. If Joy really is pregnant with Alex’s child, there’s a few options. If she really wants him back, she could use it to stay in his life. If she wants to put it all behind her and realizes she’s not ready for parenthood, she end the pregnancy or give the baby up for adoption. But there’s also a third option.

She could always pretend someone else is the father — maybe even someone who’s also a Kiriakis and who might share some DNA with the baby to keep up the ruse. Someone like Philip? Yeah, it’s more than a little creepy since, as he just pointed out, he’s known Joy since she was a child and was once obsessed with her sister, Chloe.

He and Joy could say that after Alex and Stephanie got back together, they were left reeling, got drunk (much like that night with Johnny) and had a one-night stand they both regret.

Again, icky, but Brady ended up having a kid with Kristen, the woman who was in love with his dad when he was a kid. It’s not out of the ordinary for Salem. But at the very least, Philip, perhaps feeling bad for all he put Chloe through, might see this as an opportunity to do something good for Chloe’s sister. He could step in and keep folks (and Alex) from asking too many questions while Joy makes up her mind on what to do.

But, we suppose first thing’s first. As Sarah said, they’ve got to make sure Joy is, in fact, pregnant, before deciding what comes next. The good news is, if Joy did decide to pass the baby off as someone else’s, the good news is she can also turn to Sarah for that! Because that’s exactly what she did with Victoria and Rex before coming clean to Xander. It didn’t work in the long run, but hey, maybe Joy would have more luck with a fake baby-daddy!
