‘I Could Go Any Day Now,’ Says Dick Van Dyke – Days of Our Lives Legend Reveals He’s ‘Not Afraid’ of What’s to Come!

Since showbiz legend Dick Van Dyke turns 99 years old on December 13, when he reflects on his incredible life and illustrious career — as he does in Coldplay’s new “All My Love” music video — he has a whole lot on which to look back. “I think I’m one of those lucky people who got to do for a living what I would have done, anyway,” says the entertainer, who is just an Academy Award away from being an EGOT winner. “When you think how lucky I am, I got to do what I do — play and act silly.”
Modest as he is, he left out the part where he has done those things with a contagious joyfulness.
Van Dyke, who had been real-life gym buddies with Days of Our Lives leading man Drake Hogestyn, made an indelible impression in his Daytime Emmy-winning stint as John Black’s real father, Timothy Robicheaux. Given his advanced age, the star of primetime’s The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis: Murder admitted, “I’m acutely aware that I… you know, could go any day now, but I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me.
