The Young and the Restless was not about to let the occasion of Eric Braeden’s 45th anniversary as Victor Newman pass without the fanfare that it was due. On the contrary, a massive party was thrown for the Emmy winner on the set. (Soaps.com cheered the actor on, too; read our tribute here.)

“Today we celebrated this extraordinary man,” Instagrammed Michelle Stafford, who plays Victor’s occasional daughter-in-law, Phyllis. “Forty-five years on [the show]. He is a legend.

“Even folks who don’t watch The Young and the Restless know who he is,” she added. “The great Victor Newman. This was a beautiful day. I love you, Eric.”

Melody Thomas Scott, aka Victor’s missus Nikki, seconded that emotion, as did Christian Jules LeBlanc, who is the tycoon’s right-hand man, Michael, and his on-screen better half Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren). “You truly are the best in all ways!” exclaimed Jess Walton, whose Jill once had a torrid affair with Victor.

Mark Grossman (Adam) marveled at “45 years of greatness. Cheers to the legend, Eric Braeden, the one and only Victor Newman. Iconic.”

“You are a legend, an icon,” cheered Christel Khalil (Lily), with Jason Thompson (Billy) joking, “I’m just on Eric Braeden time.” Melissa Ordway called it “an honor to play your TV daughter [Abby]. So thankful for you and our friendship.”
